Assessments
Assessments
At Three Trails Preschool, we believe in using comprehensive assessments to support each child’s growth and development. These assessments help us tailor instruction and provide individualized support for all learners.
- Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP): Completed three times per year, the DRDP is a research-based tool that measures children’s progress across multiple developmental domains including language, cognitive, motor, and social-emotional skills.
- Devereux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA): A social-emotional screener completed three times a year by teachers and also completed once by families. The DECA helps identify children’s protective factors and behavioral concerns, allowing us to support their social-emotional well-being effectively.
- Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning (DIAL): Administered by our PAT (Parents as Teachers) staff, this screening evaluates children’s motor, language, and cognitive skills to identify any developmental delays or concerns early.
- Family Collaboration: We partner closely with families by sharing assessment results and involving them in setting individualized goals for their child.
- Individualized Learning Plans: Educators use assessment data to design targeted activities and interventions that meet the unique needs of each child.
- Ongoing Monitoring: Assessments are conducted regularly to track progress and adjust instruction as needed, ensuring continuous growth.
