High school students from around the District earn high ratings at state music contest

Band and choir students from Raytown High School and band and orchestra students Raytown South High School participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) State Music Contest. 

Raytown High School band students who earned an exemplary (I) rating include Troy Oberholtz, tuba solo; Jordan Patrick, snare drum solo; and David Sevart, French horn solo. Band students who earned an outstanding (II) rating include Emma Schoolcraft, flute solo; Logan Oehring, trumpet solo; Abby Plank, Clarinet solo; Zach Strader, marimba solo; Cameron Geeding, Lindsey Mahan, Kevin Johnson, Infinatasia Moore, and Elliot Clemons for their saxophone quintet; and Zach Strader, Spencer Beaman, Evalynn Lomax, Jordan Patrick, Caleb Nading, Earl Bradshaw, for their percussion ensemble. The Director of Bands at Raytown High School is Joseph Hill.  

Raytown High School choir students who earned an exemplary (I) rating for their vocal music solos include Madilyn Baker, Saul Jimenez, and Caleb McCarroll. Small ensembles who received an exemplary (I) rating include the Camerata Double-Mixed Quartet of Emma Drace, Grace Givens, Kevin Johnson, Jordan Meyer, Caleb McCarroll, Iliana Miller, Katie Nguyen, and Tim Sadler; and the Camerata Women's Trio of Sydni Embry, Victoria Goudeau, and Raynesha Green. Jordan Atkins earned an outstanding (II) rating on his vocal music solo. Small ensembles who earned an outstanding (II) rating include the Concert Choir Miscellaneous Women's Ensemble of Asha Berry, Callista Kremer, Miranda Erickson, Elana Harris, Cortnee Nichols, Tuesday Scanlon, DeAngela Warren, and Amya Mitchell-Woods; and the Camerata Miscellaneous Men's Ensemble of Jordan Atkins, Spencer Beaman, Jacob Beardmore, Saul Jimenez, Kevin Johnson, Caleb McCarroll, and Tim Sadler. The Director of the Vocal Music program at Raytown High School is Alex Kolster.

Raytown South High School band students who earned an exemplary (I) rating include Paige Teeman, French horn Solo; Dawson Campbell, tenor saxophone solo. Raytown South High School band students who earned an outstanding (II) rating include Quinten Becker, trumpet. The Director of Bands at Raytown South is Brandon Hord.

Raytown South High School orchestra students who earned an exemplary (I) rating include Henry Franklin, cello solo; and Bradley Snyder and Elizabeth Torres, violin/cello duet. Raytown South High School Band students who earned an outstanding (II) rating include Henry Franklin and Abigail Bishop, violin/cello duet. The Raytown South Orchestra is under the direction of Suzannah Smith.
